Kidney transplantation operation in Turkish hospitals involve 1 week to 10 days hospital stay. It is a major surgery to have a kidney implanted.
This is done under general anaesthesia and will usually take about three hours. Patients have to take many tablets, including immunosuppression tablets, and have to attend the out patient department for regular check ups following their discharge.
